On 1st May 2025, nine of our members started on their self sponsored Road trip to Mombasa lead by our Executive Director Aturinda Ireen Samalie , to attend the crochet fashion Night ;one of crochet Fashion week Africa events that took place in Kilifi, Mombasa.
they had a stop over in Nairobi, on 3rd May where they visited 2 of Osona yarn stores in Nairobi, and also joined craft and colours during their crochet hub( they conduct free crochet training every 1st Saturday of the month ) at Village market mall .
they were happy to interact with the children that were participating in the free crochet training that day and they gladly answered some of the questions the children had about crocheting, they later visited the Craft and colours yarn shop.
Arrived in Mombasa on 5th May, they spent sometime and visited the Indian ocean before heading to Kilifi for the Crochet fashion Night.
During the event our Executive Director who was a panelist emphasised the need for partnerships and collaborations between crocheters and crochet organisations.
They arrived back in Kampala on 6th May. They had a fun filled trip full of laughter and learning .
It was time well spent in Nairobi /Mombasa and we look forward to attending more of such crochet events world wide.
