Our Objectives:
Market for your products; all members are encouraged to submit samples of their products to the association and these products are taken to every exhibition that the Association participates in.
Discounted prices on materials; the association has engaged and is still engaging shops that sell crochet materials ,and only members will benefit from the discounted prices of different materials
Recommendations; for any opportunity that comes through the association, be it funding, trainings, conferences, summits, exhibitions etc only Association members can benefit from it. The association will also give recommendation letters to all its members who might need them.
Networking; being a member gives you chance to network and share ideas with other Association members.

Director/Founding Member
Oliver is a Ugandan who is passionate about giving a helping hand to individuals that are underprivileged or living in
Stressful conditions. She actualized this passion as a volunteer helping a one Miss Atuhirwe Carol who battled cancer for seven years, but unfortunately succumbed to the disease. Since then Oliver has been at the forefront of awareness, advocacy, and training
and planning programs. She is the executive Director of Carol Atuhirwe Cancer Foundation whose main aim is the global fight against cancer.
Ms. Oliver volunteers with Ireen Samalie Dream world and the youth dream up initiative to address challenges faced by the youth and also empower them through skilling particularly crocheting, loom knitting, and making reusable pads among others.
Through the Crocheters' Association Uganda she intends to help build a network of youth and women not only passionate about crocheting but also being empowered and benefiting through it.
She is an Economist, software Engineer, a Volunteer, SDGs Enthusiast and a Researcher.
Edrine is an advocate of the Courts of Judicature of Uganda, having been called to the Bar in
Diploma in Legal Practice (Dip LP) from the Law Development Centre in Uganda and a
master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Heriot Watt University-Edinburgh
Business School, in Scotland.
She is an Associate Partner at BNM Advocates and works with the firm’s Litigation
Department. Edrine is mainly involved in Real Estate Conveyancing, Corporate and
Commercial Law,Banking law and practice and Family Law Litigation and Corporate
Governance, Wealth and succession planning.She previously worked with Nsamba & Co.
Advocates, CR. Amanya Advocates and Foundation for Human Rights Initiatives.
She has vast experience in representing clients in contentious matters before various courts of
Judicature, labour tribunals, IP enforcement cases particularly in copyright a Trade Mark
Infringement. She has also handled complex litigation and regulatory enforcement of matters
with a focus on banking, land and property law, conveyance, contract law, defamation suits,
company law, white collar crimes and corporate crimes. She has significant experience
handling a wide range of high-profile litigations including company disputes, banking, family
law and employment law.
She is a member of the Uganda Law Society, East Africa Law Society, Member of the Uganda
Alumni of Tanzania Association ,The Watt Club and the International Legal Network.
Ireen has over 8 years work experience. Currently she is founder of Crocheters’ Association Ug, CEO at Ireen Samalie Dream world ltd, and Team leader at the Youth Dream up Initiative.
Ireen Volunteers with Carol Atuhirwe Cancer Foundation as the digital marketing officer & AWE Alumnae Association as Mobilization Chair.
Previously, Ireen worked with Milton Obote Foundation as the Information Management Officer, a position she held for 5years, volunteered with Young African Women Congress Network as a vice president of the Uganda chapter for a period of 2 years, worked with Stanbic Bank Uganda as a credit analyst and banker teller respectively, & also worked as research assistant at Makerere University School of Public Health.
Ireen has attended different conferences and summits like COP28 in Dubai, Eastern Africa Regional Consultative Workshop on Engagement with UNFCCC on climate change processes in preparation of SB58 & COP 28 in May 2023, You lead summit, December 2022 in Arusha, Tanzania, Youth Connect Africa Conference, October 2019 in Kigali Rwanda, and The Young African Women Congress, July 2019 in Accra Ghana.
She is a 2024 Mandela Washington Fellowship fellow, an alumna of YALI RLC, East Africa, and Academy for Women Entrepreneurs.
She was a finalist at both YALI RLC EA Alumni Impact Awards 2023, and the US Mission in Uganda Alumni Impact Awards 2023,and also a seed funding winner of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs.
Ireen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from Uganda Christian University, Mukono.
She is committed to reducing youth unemployment in her community and country at large through crocheting, the desire she developed after looking at the effects covid 19 lock down had on the youth and women.
Bringing together all Ugandan Crocheters and other crocheters’ around the globe.
